Characteristics of Mobile Phone Distraction of Subway Pedestrian Based on Video Extraction

Distraction, which is caused by using mobile phone, is a common phenomenon in subway. It can reduce pedestrian velocity and increase safety risk. This paper takes distracted behavior as research target, aiming to reveal its main characteristics. The specific video extraction is collected in corridor subway station. And it is supposed to realize the complex recognition of pedestrians, analyzed by the Harr-like and AdBoost’s head detection and a target tracking based on compressed sensing. The correlation tests are used to analyze the influence of different characterizes such as gender, age, luggage and pedestrian density. Besides, this paper illustrates the effects of various volumes on people surrounding with mobile phones. It provides a theoretical basis for the functional layout of subway station, the design of interchange facilities and the management of pedestrian.
