In this paper, public opinions towards implementation of automated buses are reported which are based on a survey in La Rochelle. This is a part of work of European CityMobil2 project. La Rochelle was one of cities selected to demonstrate automated road vehicles in the project. Six automated mini buses were demonstrated on public roads for 6 months. According to the surveys, the public are positive towards implementation of automated buses. The potential of reduced bus fares (no driver costs) and improved service quality was attractive to the people surveyed. User security is one the issues identified for the public transport service especially for evening and night operations.
