Field Evaluation of the Performance of Unpaved Roads Incorporating Geosynthetics--Planning

This article is the second part of a 2 part series that provide guidelines for planning field evaluation of the performance of unpaved roads that incorporate geosynthetics. This article discusses how proper planning includes the selection of the best test methods and design of test sections and improper planning of field tests can misrepresent the performance of unpaved roads. The article shows how field evaluation of unpaved roads that incorporate geosynthetics may have different goals: quality assurance, benefit evaluation, and comparative design. This article provides guidelines for the proper planning of field tests that meet the three goals.
