Needs, Measurements and Solutions for Highly Reliable Positioning
The paper presents an advanced positioning terminal algorithm which, based on the use of raw measurements provided by a COTS multi-constellation receiver and a low cost IMU substantially improves the accuracy of the PVT (Position, Velocity and Time) solution in open and urban environments and provides a tight error bound computed according to a user defined Target Integrity Risk. The paper also presents different initiatives in the field of the standardization of PVT metrics and analyses the performances of the proposed solution according to those metrics.
