Customer Centric Metro Train Scheduling to Enhance Mobility

This paper discusses how the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) focuses on Sustainability, Mobility, Innovations, Lifestyle & Environment (SMILE) to remain competitive in offering customer oriented transport services to commuters in the city of Delhi. The metro rail service faces competition from buses, paratransit modes and private modes of transportation. DMRC acknowledges that efficient customer centric time tabling may not only meet but exceed customer expectations. DMRC is using many innovations to develop a customer centric time table by matching the supply with demand temporally and spatially to improve its' quality of service.
