USE OF LIMESTONE AGGREGATES IN COORDINATED STRENGTHENING OPERATIONS

L'UTILISATION DES GRANULATS CALCAIRES EN RENFORCEMENTS COORDONNES

The highway policy followed in France since 1970 is described, and attention is drawn to the importance of coordinated strengthening operations and the aggregates used in the latter. The use of limestone aggregates from the point of view of quantity and quality is examined together with their utilization on road construction. The following parameters are studied: grading curve, mechanical strength, frost sensitivity, cleanliness, and their effects on the use of the aggregates are mentioned. An economic study concludes the article. /TRRL/
