Nondestructive Evaluation Methods for Waterfront Facilities
American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Manual No. 130 (Waterfront Facilities Inspection and Assessment) was published in 2015 and briefly highlights several specialized techniques in Appendix C. In 2013, the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) created a two-day training course to provide inspectors and managers the opportunity to learn about the latest in commercially available nondestructive tools and monitoring systems. This paper will introduce ten nondestructive evaluation (NDE) methods in the ASCE Manual No. 130 and the USDOT training course with a clear focus on providing a concise useful resource.
