Mathematical Model for Determining the Time of Changing From High to Low Beam While Passing by in Night Conditions

Matematicki model odre|ivanja vremena promjene dugih u kratka svjetla prilikom mimoilazenja u nocnim uvjetima

A large number of accidents happen in two – lane roads in night conditions more accurately during passing along. A major factor for accidents in night conditions is blinding from the long lights light patch during the passing of two vehicles. This research has attempted to establish a model for time determination in changing the lights from long to short in night conditions. The research includes two different categories of two – lane roads in the Republic of Macedonia, more exactly a two – lane roads just for vehicles with speed limits of 100 km/h and two – lane roads for different kind of traffic with speed limit of 80 km/h. This paper shows the results of the research in terms of normal time change from long to short lights during passing along in night conditions for different type of roads, the polynomial curve which can describe the time of long to short lights change, a number of drivers who don’t drive according the regulations for light usage in night conditions as well as comparison of changing time from long to short lights of different road types in terms of speed limitation.
