Analysis of Stationary Devices for Detection of Thermal Failures of Railway Vehicles

Analiza stacionarnih uredaja za otkrivanje termickih kvarova na zeljeznickim vozilima

Being in the proven effectiveness and economic feasibility of installation systems for dynamic control of the movement of railway vehicles in traffic and detect thermal defects in the rail network, the paper presents and examines the technical conditions for the emergence of various types of thermal faults on rolling. Details are researched and described the principles of non-contact temperature measurement, thermal faults and most modern European stationary devices for non-contact temperature measurement and detection of thermo-technical failures on railway vehicles. Croatian accession to the European Union and its railways are obliged to respect and implement the EU’s guidelines so primarily on the main lines Railways Infrastructure shall as soon as possible to incorporate the modern security system that reduces damage to the railway infrastructure and vehicles, while increasing traffic safety. Because of this technical area at Croatian Railways is still not publicly disclosed in documents, the purpose of the paper is primarily educational, but also affirmative for the purpose of further research on this very demanding issue.
