Details are given of tests on ten plain and reinforced concrete short rectangular columns to examine the behaviour and ultimate strength of compression members under torsion, and an expression for the ultimate strength is presented. The proposed expression correlates very well with the observed ultimate strength of the specimens tested in the investigation. /TRRL/
