Preparing for transportation privacy

It is necessary for transportation professionals to consider the privacy of personally identifying information. Methods of removing information from datasets may no longer be sufficient for protecting privacy. Intelligent transportation systems are becoming more reliant on data from travelers, and it is necessary for transportation professionals to use data management techniques to meet legal and ethical requirements for location privacy. There are a number of policies and procedures in place to ensure the security of private data in the transportation field, and the industry remains responsive and prepared as needs change.
