'Flexible' Micro Surfacing 'Holy Grail' of Preservation Industry

As an efficient solution for restoring friction, filling ruts, halting raveling, and leveling distressed pavements, micro surfacing has served the traveling public well for decades. In addition, it extends the service life of roadways more cost-effectively than traditional mill and fill options. However, micro surfacing has never been intended to address roadways where the predominant distress is cracking. The search for this 'Holy Grail' - a micro surfacing system that can also impede significant cracking - is what has contributed to the evolution of and advancements in this important pavement preservation tool, as outlined in this article.
