LABORATORY STUDIES ON THE CHEMICAL STABILISATION OF LATERITE IN ROAD CONSTRUCTION
The object of this study was to improve the engineering properties of laterites commonly found in tropical regions by treating them with small concentrations of alkali. It was shown that the addition of a solution of 0.2 per cent sodium hydroxide to the laterite at the compaction stage resulted in a marked increase in the strength of the compacted laterite. /TRRL/
