'Mobility Y' -The Emerging Travel Patterns of Generation Y

This report looks at trends in young adult's travel including license holding, car ownership, car use, and mode choice. Two case studies explore these trends in more detail for Germany and Great Britain. Decreasing car ownership in these two countries is attributed to socioeconomic factors while changes in mobility patterns are attributed to gender, place (city versus rural), and income. In both countries young drivers are increasing utilizing alternate forms of transportation including public transit.
