ANALYSIS OF THE BEHAVIOUR OF THIN STIFFENED ANISTROPIC PLATES WITH A GIVEN STRESS CONDITION AND SMALL INITIAL CURVATURE IN THE LARGE DISPLACEMENT RANGE

ANALYSE DU COMPORTEMENT DES PLAQUES MINICES RAIDIES ANISOTROPES PRESENTANT UN ETAT DE CONTRAINTES PROPRES ET UNE FAIBLE COURBURE INITIALE DANS LE DOMAINE DES GRANDS DEPLACEMENTS

Details are given of an approximate method, which uses the finite element method of analyzing thin anistropic stiffened plates with a given stress condition and small initial curvature. This analysis is applicable to large displacements of the plate and stiffeners. A computer program has been written for use with the IBM 360-75 computer. This program has reached the experimental stage and will be extended to the plastic range and the study of small movements round a deformed equilibrium position. various test results are appended. /TRRL/
