Asphalt Paving Technology 2015

This publication comprises papers presented at the annual meeting of the Association of Asphalt Paving Technologists (AAPT). Papers from the Technical Sessions focus on the following topics related to asphalt pavement mixtures: aging and rejuvenators; fatigue behavior of plant-produced reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) mixtures; mineral filler and oxidative aging; thermal cracking; biasing effects during fatigue tests; perpetual pavement design; strain-relieving interlayer and reflective cracking; laboratory cracking test results versus field performance; asphalt binder failure criterion under cyclic fatigue loading; laboratory mixture design and field compaction; short-term aging; performance-based specifications; mixing sequence and workability/performance; prediction of mechanical response through finite element approach; low temperature performance in black space; dynamic modulus using small-scale specimen geometries; modulus of hot-mix asphalt estimation using Hirsch model; binder composition and cracking performance of asphalt mixtures with recycled asphalt shingles; and cyclic loading behavior using disc-shaped compact tension test and released energy approach. The presentation from the Leading Edge Forum focuses on implementing specifications for new technologies. The International Forum presentation focus on cold recycling of RAP. The Symposium presentations focus on rejuvenators.
