BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON UNTIL ACCELERATOR DEPRESSED

A simple circuit that keeps the stoplights on after the brake pedal is released and until the accelerator is next depressed has been devised by Britain's Transport and Road Research Laboratory. This sequence occurs after every brake application, and warns following drivers that the braked vehicle may be stationary or only coasting slowly forward. A diagram of the circuit is shown and explanatory remarks are made in order to illustrate how it operates.
