Intact and Damage Stability of the Oil Carrier

Analiza stabiliteta broda za prijevoz ulja u neoštećenom i oštećenom stanju

The aim of this paper is to control the ship design partitioning (spaces - tanks) for the oil carrier (59555 t). For a given ship a flooding simulation is conducted on one or more compartments using the software package MAXSURF. The paper presents in brief a theoretical discussion of deterministic and probabilistic approach to damage stability of the ship. The criteria relating to the stability of the ship are shown for the cases of an intact and damaged ship. Stability check is performed using different analysis routines offered by the Hydromax modul of the MAXSURF software, which was conducted for the intact condition of the vessel and for the different cases of damage scenarios. The defined criteria of classification societies for each individual condition was performed and evaluated.
