Electrician Dies After Falling Out of an Aerial Lift Truck's Raised Bucket After It Was Struck By a Semi-Tractor Trailor - The NIOSH Report

This article presents a National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) report of an accident involving a Massachusetts city-employed electrician who died from injuries sustained when he fell out of aerial lift truck's raised bucket. The bucket was struck by a tractor-trailer, resulting in the ejection of the victim, who then fell approximately 16 feet to the ground. The incident location, victim, vehicles involved, investigation, contributing factors, and cause of death are detailed. A number of recommendations are offered to prevent similar accidents.
