Crash Test of Cadillac DeVille into Rear of Jeep Cherokee at 35 mph Closing Speed

This article presents the results of National Highway Traffic Safety Administration crash test #8554, which measured the aggressiveness of a 1993 Cadillac DeVille (bullet vehicle) and the vehicle response of a 1996 Jeep Cherokee Limited (target vehicle). The target vehicle sustained a maximum 378 mm of static crush on the rear bumper at the vehicle centerline, while the bullet vehicle sustained a maximum of 225 mm of static crush on the front bumper near the vehicle centerline.
