MODEL EXPERIMENTS FOR THERMAL SHOCK FRACTURE BEHAVIOR

Thermal shock fracture tests with specimens of simple geometry (plate and hollow cylinder) made from an appropriate model material, glass, were performed to investigate the behavior of cracks under transient thermal loads.
