INFRARED PYROMETER FOR TEMPERATURE MONITORING OF TRAIN WHEELS AND JET ENGINE ROTORS

Problems have been encountered in detecting and measuring hot spots on rapidly rotating objects, such as turbine blades of operating jet engines and wheels of moving railroad cars. The paper discusses an Unfrared Optical Pyrometer designed to make such measurements while mounted at a convenient distance from the rotating objects. /AUTHOR/
