A brief account is given of the development of anti-lock braking systems in Britain, together with a summary of current British Leyland activities in this field. The effect of using transistorised electronic circuitry to detect and interpret signals from the velocity transducers at the wheels is discussed, and its impact in recent years on the cost of anti-lock braking systems is mentioned. /TRRL/
