Pavement Research in Florida: OBSI
This paper delineates the results of on-board sound intensity (OBSI) measurements and analysis for multiple Florida surface textures as related to highway noise. Measurements were performed using the Florida Department of Transportation On-Board Sound Intensity Test Trailer which is described. The OBSI measurements occurred at numerous locations across the State of Florida and include rigid pavements, dense graded, and open graded surfaces. Ranking and analysis of pavements by both amplitude and frequency are discussed as well as trends noted.
