URBAN BUSES POWERED BY NATURAL GAS

ERDGAS-BETRIEBENE STADTOMNIBUSSE

The author compares the noxious emissions from auto, diesel and gas engines and gives technical details of a bus powered by natural gas. The natural gas at 160 degrees C is turned into steam in a heat exchanger, mixed with suction air and fed to the engine. Good mixing of the gaseous fuel with the air promotes clean combustion. The conversion of diesel-driver buses is possible without great expense. /TRRL/
