TRANSPORTATION ASPECTS OF OUT-OF-TOWN SHOPPING CENTRES

The author discusses the establishment of regional shopping centres both in Britain and the USA and their effects on traffic in central areas, traffic flows and roadwork investments. Details are given of various shopping centre layouts, their strategic locations, parking facilities and traffic volumes generated by the new centres. The effect of the regional centres on trade in the central areas is also discussed.
