ROAD TRAFFIC IN GREATER LONDON--RESULTS OF SPEED AND FLOW STUDIES, 1968-1970

The various speed studies undertaken in London by the Road Research Laboratory, the L.C.C. and the G.L.C. are briefly reviewed. Results are given for the first full cycle of the new G.L.C. study. The show that new motorways have increased average speeds on primary roads, while other roads show virtually no change since 1962, despite 50 percent more traffic.
