CONTRASTING CARRIAGEWAY MARKINGS

KONTRASTMARKERINGAR AV TRAFIKLINJER PA KORBANOR

All highways in Malmo now have a light-colored surface. White road markings and pedestrian crossings do not form sufficient contrast with the light surface of the highways. This is why black contrasting markings have been added this year. In most cases the marking material, black as well as white, has been warm plastic material laid on top of the surface. In a few cases, the markings have been ground into the road or executed with stamped "Tarkett" plates. The results of this year's experiments with contrasting markings have been very good. A considerable increase in traffic safety should be expected. Therefore, in future, main roads with a light surfacing will have black contrasting marking. /IRRD-IRF/
