SOME OPERATING EXPERIENCES WITH BROWN BOVER: VTR TURBOCHARGERS
Some aspects of design and maintenance of exhaust gas driven turbochargers on marine diesel engines are discussed, including--protection of the turbine blading from piston ring fragments/ blade failure due to vibration/compressor induced blade fracture from vibration/ damage to anti-friction bearings and service life for these bearings/ gas-side corrosion of turbine casings/ and compressor and turbine cleaning.
