EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF THE ROAD SURFACE VIBRATION WAVES CAUSED BY THE MOVEMENT OF AN AUTOMOBILE

EKSPERIMENTAL'NOE ISSLEDOVANIE VOLN KOLEBANII DOROZHNYKH POKRYTII PRI DVIZHENII AVTOMOBILYA

A procedure and conditions for the carrying out of experiments to record vibration waves generated in different road surfaces by motor vehicles are presented. Vibration sensors of the seismic type have been used. They have proved themselves to be better than the usual inductive type and have enabled the recording of the wave-form stressed dynamic state of road surfaces. A conclusion is drawn regarding the necessity to take into account, in theoretical design calculations, the complex stressed state under the simultaneous effect of the moving and impact loads on the multi-layer road structure.
