TESTING AND EVALUATION PROGRAM FOR ANTHROPOMORPHIC CRASH TEST DUMMIES

A testing program is announced for evaluation of crash test dummies embodying a unique, patented mechanical design for certain body joints and segments. The dummy which is intended to represent the average adult American male in size and weight, will simulate physical motions and reproduce the impact response of such a man in a crash situation. The test program will be conducted on four such dummies by the Civil Aviation Medicine Institute of the Transportation Department's Federal Aviation Administration in Oklahoma City. The results of the tests on these dummies which were developed in Japan, will be forwarded to the Japanese government.
