TRAFFIC PROBLEMS IN THE DOVER STRAIT
This article presents the findings resulting from initial research on marine traffic systems, centering on the Dover Straits, by the National Physical Laboratory of England. Data are provided on the characteristics of traffic, casualties, and the carriage of dangerous cargoes, to be used in studies of the risks and real costs associated with the present level of safety, and for assessing the effectiveness and benefits of the new proposals for improving safety in the area.
