This book is intended for technicians and engineers engaged in designing, testing and operating automated steam turbine plants of sea-going transport ships. The book deals with problems of complex automation of marine steam turbine plants. Typical operation and control systems and the possibilities of simplifying operation and control by modifying various circuits and groupings are discussed. Typical solutions of problems of complex automation on ships with modern steam turbine plants built during the last few years in the USSR, the USA, Japan, and various European countries are presented. The principles of the rules and regulations are given of classification companies which classify ships according to automation methods and means aboard sea-going ships. Problems of centralization of remote control systems and the testing of automated components of marine steam turbine plants are also discussed.
