This book deals with the technology of assembly and installation of ship mechanical equipment. It gives a theoretical substantiation and presents current technological processes of marine repair and assembly work, and cites data on the efficiency of their practical applications. A description in detail is given of the methods for installing main ship mechanisms and shafts, master and auxiliary boilers, auxiliary ship mechanisms and heat exchangers, as well as of current methods for preserving mechanical equipment. The book discusses problems of improving the quality of production techniques, level and means of mechanization of ship installation work, and analyzes basic trends for their further improvement. The book is intended for shipbuilding personnel engaged in building and designing of ships and marine mechanical equipment.
