THE MOTION OF A GUIDED RAILWAY CAR WITH INDEPENDENTLY ROTATING WHEELS-CALCULATIONS BASED ON THE SHIN KANSEN CAR MODEL.

The speed limit of railway vehicles is generally said to be about 350km/h, owing to the stability of hunting motion. But, if an independently rotating wheel track guided by a guide rail (IRWTG) is adopted, a railway vehicle applicable beyond that speed limit is realizable. This paper describes the principle of an IRWTG and results of numerical examinations.
