MODEL EXPERIMENTS ON LATERAL RESISTANCE OF THREE-DIMENSIONAL FOOTING FOUNDATION IN SAND
In the design of a footing foundation, the lateral load must be considered as well as the vertical load. A series of model experiment of three dimensions in sand were carried out in order to make clear the lateral resistant properties of a footing. As a result, they were made clear that the shape factor is proportioned to the ratio depth to width of footing D sub f/B for maximum lateral resistant force and displacement properties, rupture field and others.
