Tomorrow's Road Infrastructure Monitoring & Management (TRIMM)
New infrastructure is designed and built with a limited intended life and will have to be replaced at some point in the future. With inadequate maintenance this decay can happen even faster. Maintenance should therefore not be regarded as an annoying and unanticipated cost, but as essential to ensure the most effective investment. Regular inspections make it possible to man and perform suitable maintenance in good time. To strengthen the role of inspections for road management, Europe has started the TRIMM project, to highlight the positive aspects of condition survey.
