Managing Critical Truck Parking Tech Memo #1: Commercial Driver Perspectives on Truck Parking
This document analyzes the results of a survey of commercial truck drivers on truck parking issues. The survey focused on public versus private parking availability and reservation systems. The survey was completed by 1,417 drivers from March through May 2015. Survey responses indicated that about half of those surveyed would not pay for parking reservations and that drivers would prefer the motor carrier be responsible for reservation fees. Reservation parking was most likely to be utilized near major metropolitan areas.
