Novel Ultra-High-Performance Glass Concrete

Ultra-high-performance glass concrete (UHPGC) has been used to replace deteriorating wooden footbridges on the University of Sherbrooke in Quebec, Canada. UHPGC is a recently-developed form of ultra-high-performance concrete using glass particles. UHPGC has environmental and economic benefits, and it is highly durable. The pedestrian bridges meet the university’s requirements for sustainability. The construction of the bridges has shown the potential for UHPGC to be used in other projects.
