On a Roll with Tolling
This article describes the state of freight infrastructure, which faces challenges due to lack of funding. In order to improve the potential for reliable goods and commodities movement, many state departments of transportation are considering tolling as a funding solution, which has met with some opposition from the trucking industry. The author details the history of toll roads and examines the arguments for and against tolling.
