PROGRESS IN FLAW GROWTH AND FRACTURE TOUGHNESS TESTING

The publication which is intended for use by theoreticians and experimentalists, provides the state-of-the-art in the analysis and measurement of fracture toughness and flaw growth resistance. The coverage includes items on the theory, analysis and understanding of fracture behavior and comment on the crack closure phenomenon. Attention is drawn to the use of the J-integral. The use of the fracture mechanics approach is given considerable coverage. The papers presented here are: Application of Strip Model to Crack Tip Resistance and Crack Closure Phenomena, by C.L.
