The New Haven Trap Rock's approach to the stone Industrial Park concept in Danbury, Connecticut, is described. New Haven Trap Rock had been experiencing record production sales but the railroads were not sharing this prosperity. The determination was made that in order to expand the marketing area served by their competitive rail quarries, New Haven Trap Rock would have to make investment in rail facilities to help the carrier lower its operating expenses. A 40 car unit train is utilized from the quarry to the distribution side in Danbury.
