Improving diesel efficiency

Improving diesel efficiency has become a major imperative in rail transportation due to a focus on the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions and improvement of urban air quality. Next generation emission-reducing fleet technologies that save fuel through efficient powertrain and driveline systems are critical going forward. This article explores how the fragmentation of ownership and operational control can create a challenge when trying to introduce new industry technologies for diesel effiency. The author argues that expert consulting from external sources can help bridge this fragmentation.
