CURVED THIN-WALLED GIRDERS. THEORY AND ANALYSIS

The monograph is a translation of the book entitled "Gekruemmte Duennwandige Traeger, Theorie und Berechnung", published by Springer-Verlag in 1968. The document is presented under the following headings: (1) properties of open, closed, and open-closed sections; (2) fundamental equations of non uniform torsion; (3) stress resultants for principal loading cases. Determination of bimoments by means of the method of initial parameters; (4) deformation of curved thin-walled girders; (5) continuous curved girders; (6) analysis of curved continuous girders with cross-section varying along the longitudinal axis and with negligibly small St Venant torsional rigidity; (7) analysis of curved continuous girders with statically indeterminate conditions of support in the plane of curvature. (8) deformation of cross-section. Redistribution of cross-sectional stresses-forces and stresses in the transverse bracing; (9) curved thin-walled webs as circular cylindrical shells. /TRRL/
