USER'S MANUAL FOR THE PREDICTION OF ROAD TRAFFIC NOISE COMPUTER PROGRAM

This manual is a guide for using a computer program for prediction of noise from freely flowing road traffic. The program is written in FORTRAN IV for use on the IBM-7094 computer at the Transportation Systems Center. The manual consists of four parts. In the Introduction, the limitations of the computer model are described. In the second part, acoustical properties of the traffic and sound propagation model are developed, and the analytical expressions used in the computer program are described. The third part contains a description of the structure of the computer program, and of the detailed calculation procedures. The fourth part gives practical guidelines for use of the computer program.
