AN INVESTIGATION INTO EXPLOSIONS ABOARD LARGE TANKERS
In recent years attention has been drawn to the danger of explosion involved in carrying crude oil in very large tanks. An investigation was instigated by the Norwegian authorities to look into this problem, and the investigation included experiments and measurements carried out aboard ship and in the laboratory. The types of experiments conducted included mainly tank cleaning problems. These experiments and their results are the main topic of this article.
