CEMENT CARRIER WITH PRESSURE CARGO-HANDLING SYSTEM
A vessel built specifically to be employed in the transport of bulk cement is described. A unique feature of this ship lies in the method of discharging, this ship uses a vacuum to pull the cargo out of the holds and onto shore. The design of the holds, including their "pyramid" bottoms, the pumping equipment, and the propulsion machinery are all described in the article.
