NEW PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUES HAVE BEEN ESSENTIAL IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF SOUND SOLUTIONS TO THE AREA'S PRESSING TRANSPORTATION PROBLEMS. A NUMBER OF PUBLIC AGENCIES AND CIVIC ORGANIZATIONS IN THE REGION ARE ENGAGED IN THE MANY DIVERSIFIED FACETS OF MARINE, LAND, AND AIR TRANSPORTATION. A VITAL PART OF THE PORT AUTHORITY'S PLANNING PROCEDURES IS THE MAINTENANCE OF CLOSE LIAISON WITH THESE ORGANIZATIONS.
