GRP IN BOATBUILDING

Technical and economic considerations are presented which present the-state-of-the-art in the West German shipbuilding industry in regard to the uses at GFRP materials. Several marine units with GRP hulls for various applications are illustrated. Advantages of GFP materials on shipbuilding are demonstrated and production methods of laminates are considered. Mechanical hand-layup techniques developed and equipment used are also briefly discussed.
