HONSHU-SHIKOKU BRIDGE EFFECTS /ABRIDGEMENT/

AN ECONOMETRIC SIMULATION MODEL WAS USED TO ASSIST IN THE LOCATION OF A BRIDGE OR BRIDGES BETWEEN TWO ISLANDS BY MEASURING THE VARIED IMPACT ON SOCIAL PRODUCTS, POPULATION, OCCUPIED POPULATIONS, CAPITAL STOCKS, POPULATION FLOW, AND CARGO MOVEMENT. THE TIME-WEIGHTING VALUE, EXPRESSED IN YEN, WAS ASSUMED SUBORDINATE TO A DISTRIBUTION FUNCTION. CONCLUSIONS ARE DRAWN, AND THE LIMITATIONS OF THE SIMULATION MODEL ARE DISCUSSED.
